This page covers the Coliseum modern bedroom, built on rosewood veneer, rich upholstery and a bronzed steel base, and the current pieces that suit the same room. The photographs below show the Coliseum bed, bench, dresser, chest, night table and vanity desk as one composition.
What Coliseum is made of
Coliseum is an upholstered bedroom framed in Brazilian rosewood veneer with a high-gloss polyester finish. The upholstery came in first grade leather, nabuk, velvet, velour or suede, and the base was bronzed stainless steel. Dark veneer, deep fabric and warm metal give the room its weight. Plain walls and flooring keep the rosewood figure in focus.
Beds with three base options
The Morganite Bed by Epoque, from the Exence Expanse line, comes with a fixed base, a lift-up storage base or a two-movement lift-up base. The two-movement version lifts the slatted base in two stages, for bedding and for storage. Its metal feet sit at the front only. Compare it with other luxury bedroom sets before choosing the base.
Chest and nightstand on slender supports
The City Chest of Drawers by Cantori, designed by Castello Lagravinese Studio, stands on tall, tapered metal legs and measures H 72 x W 120 x D 53 cm. Its metal jewel handles match the legs, echoing the bronzed base of Coliseum. The Epidote Nightstand by Epoque is lacquered on both top and body. Rooms that lean softer can start from an organic modern bed instead.
