This page covers the Aqva dining room, a classic collection where metal decoration takes the lead. The photographs below show its round table with mother-of-pearl and brass inlay and a lazy Susan, plus a sideboard with brass columns. The text explains which current pieces suit a room in this spirit.
Why a round table works for conversation
A round table puts every guest at the same distance from the centre, so conversation crosses the table easily. The Aqva photographs show this idea with a round table inlaid in mother-of-pearl and brass, fitted with a lazy Susan, beside a sideboard with the same inlay and brass columns. The Gran Guardia Round Table with Carved Legs by Francesco Pasi brings the round form into the current range, carved entirely by hand in solid cherry, with gold leaf or silver leaf decoration. For rectangular and oval options, see our italian dining room table range.
Metal and leaf decoration
In Aqva, metal decoration was the main feature; in the current pieces, gold leaf or silver leaf plays that role. The Gran Guardia Dining Chair 2009 by Francesco Pasi carries gold or silver leaf over hand carving, with a seat in fabric of category A, B or C. The Opera Shaped Silver Cabinet by Francesco Pasi, with one flat door, measures H 235 x W 97.5 x D 53 cm and takes the same choice of leaf. Its doors and drawers are solid wood, 28 mm, and its 80 mm uprights carry carving finished by hand. Other pieces sit among our luxury furniture.
