This page covers classic bedroom wardrobes, with the earlier Live, Atlas and Levis wooden wardrobes as reference, and a current New Deco wardrobe by Francesco Pasi with a matching bed and bench. It explains the choice between hinged and sliding doors and how to match the rest of the room.
Should a classic wardrobe have hinged or sliding doors?
Sliding doors suit tight rooms because they need no opening space; hinged doors give full access to the interior. The earlier range offered both, with the Live wardrobes in two or four doors and the Atlas with sliding doors. Wall width decides a lot: the Live model ran from 156 cm with two doors to 312 cm with four.
What does a two-tone veneer wardrobe look like?
A two-tone veneer combines two natural wood tones across the front. The New Deco Wardrobe, Natural Bicolor, by Francesco Pasi has two sliding doors veneered this way, on uprights of solid cherry 60 mm thick.
Its doors are solid cherry 34 mm. More options are gathered under luxury master bedroom furniture.
Which bed and bench match it?
A bed in a warm finish and a cherry bench tie the room to the wardrobe. The Opera Bed 3071 by Francesco Pasi has an upholstered headboard and a solid wood structure 80 mm thick, in Luxury Hazelnut or Retro Walnut among other finishes.
At its foot, the New Deco Bench in Fabric uses a solid cherry frame. The wood tones chosen here can also guide a classic italian dining table and chairs elsewhere in the home.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do sliding doors limit access to the wardrobe?
Partly. Only one side opens at a time, which is the trade-off for needing no clearance in front.
What is the New Deco wardrobe made of?
Seven-layer cherry blockboard, 25 mm thick, for sides, bottom and frame, with solid cherry doors 34 mm thick and 60 mm solid cherry uprights.
Can the bench match the wardrobe?
Yes. The New Deco Bench in Fabric frame comes in cherry, lacquer or Luxury.
